Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducted its annual General Assembly with its members. Official guests were the economic and commercial advisor in the Romanian Embassy in Bulgaria – Radu Moldovan and the Manager of the Office of Commercial and Economic Affairs to the Embassy of Bulgaria in the Republic of Romania – Ivaylo Marinov.
During the event it was established, that the commodity turnover between Bulgaria and Romania increased once more in 2018 and reached 4.6 billion euro. According to data from the National Statistical Institute, commodity export to Romania during last year has increased by 10.2% compared to 2017, while the commodities imported from the northern neighbor have increased by 3.4%. The positive trade balance for 2018 is 195 million euro and Romania is Bulgaria’s third biggest trade partner among EU countries, right after Germany and Italy.
The CEO of the Chamber, Mrs. Eleonora Ivanova, reported on the past 12 months and announced, that 28 new companies have joined the organization. She emphasized the new website www.brcci.eu,
which officially started in February, its active information section and the ability to publish sales leads, free of charge, in three languages – Bulgarian, Romanian and English.
The participants familiarized themselves with the activity of the Center for Vocational Training, licensed at the end of last year. The increased interest in the courses for Business Romanian for beginners and advanced learners was also taken into account.
The Chamber’s team has worked on five international projects with European financing on the following themes: labor mobility, navigation, entrepreneurship, tourism. 28 events have been conducted, among which were bilateral B2B meetings, seminars, trainings, information forums and participation in international conferences.
After the General Assembly, members of the Chamber and more than 100 representatives of companies from Bulgaria and Romania participated in a structures networking.
