Lider.BG held a successful business conference in Burgas
Lider.BG held its annual Regional Business Conference in Burgas, bringing together representatives of the business community, institutions, the technology sector, academia and leading business organizations.
The Regional Business Conference in Burgas was held under the patronage of Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and in partnership with Burgas Free University, represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov. The event was opened by Ivelina Strateva, Director of the Economic and Business Activities Directorate at Burgas Municipality.
In her address to the participants, Ivelina Strateva highlighted infrastructure development and human capital as key factors for Burgas’s economic growth. Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov emphasized the importance of closer links between higher education and business, while Iliyana Ilieva, Executive Director of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the Chamber’s role in creating new partnerships between Bulgarian and Romanian companies.
Lider.BG Executive Director Bilyana Georgieva emphasized the regions as drivers of economic growth and the role of academia in preparing professionals for the business sector.
Three panel discussions were held during the conference, focusing on key topics related to the development and competitiveness of Bulgarian businesses.
Panel I, “Investments for Growth”, focused on the investment environment, industrial development, energy efficiency, automation, and opportunities for attracting and implementing new investments.
Panel II, “The Digital Future of Business”, focused on digitalization, artificial intelligence, automation, integrated systems and the new ways in which technology is changing company management and interaction with customers and employees.
The discussion outlined the different dimensions of digital transformation, from the digital customer experience and human capital management to the integration of business processes, data, ERP systems and companies’ overall technological infrastructure.
Panel III, “Economic Security and Sustainable Business in a Dynamic Global Environment”, focused on corporate resilience, cybersecurity, business protection and organizations’ ability to maintain stability and predictability in a rapidly changing economic and technological environment.
The discussion brought together different aspects of economic security, from protecting digital infrastructure and corporate information to physical security, resilient IT environments and effective management of resources that are critical to businesses.
The conference also placed a special focus on two topics of growing strategic importance for companies.
Schwarz Digits presented the topic “Digital Sovereignty: Data Control and the Sovereign Workplace”, drawing attention to the need for companies to retain control over their data, digital infrastructure and technological independence.
AXIOM presented AxiGlobal, international health insurance as an opportunity for modern healthcare protection in an international environment.
The conference’s exhibition area gave guests the opportunity to learn about products and solutions from different companies and speak directly with their representatives. Hörmann, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of doors, frames, drives and access control systems, presented its portfolio of solutions for businesses, industrial facilities and logistics sites.
The event was supported by Lider.BG’s institutional and business partners: Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA), Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), Industrial and Logistics Park Burgas, Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BULTISAD), Chamber of Commerce and Industry Burgas, APIS, Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders (BFBL) and 50 Best Products from Bulgaria.
Following the official programme, the conference continued with business networking, providing opportunities for new contacts, meetings and discussions among participants. DEVIN, SuperWine.bg and Spetema contributed to the atmosphere and good mood during the networking session.

With the Burgas conference, Lider.BG officially launched its autumn series of business events for 2026. The next Regional Business Conference will take place on 13 October 2026 at 15:00 at Cherno More Hotel, Bulgaria Hall, Varna.
The highlight of Lider.BG’s annual programme will be the National Business Conference on 3 November 2026 at Aula Maxima of the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, held in strategic partnership with the University of National and World Economy, represented by its Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.
The National Conference will bring together representatives of the business community, institutions, academia and leading organizations from across the country, marking the final stage of Lider.BG’s annual programme and outlining the main topics and priorities that will be at the focus of its initiatives in 2027.
